7 steps that can help you stay in shape

Fad diet is a strict no

Fit people don’t diet- they make healthy eating a part of their lifestyle. Nutrition is the ultimate key to staying fit. So, therefore, make a habit of listening to your body. Ponder over these questions like what makes you feel good? What keeps you full and energized throughout the day? 

Following fad diets deprives our body of all nutrients that we need. Additionally, their effect does not last for long. They help you shed extra weight quickly, but in an unhealthy way. 

Enjoy your workout

If you are one of them who hate exercise like anything, it is the time to find a different approach to workout.  The problem may be with your workout. Make your sessions interesting. Try different things, like HIIT, boot camps, cardio, aerobic, cross fit. This way you will enjoy exercising and will not dread it. 

Prioritize your health and fitness

Most people let work, family and social life get in their way of exercise. However, to remain fit, you need to prioritize your health no matter what. 

It means get up 15 minutes early if you have a morning meeting. Spend these 15 minutes working out. If you do not get time to gym, just jog for a while. You will feel good. Make sure you do not miss your routine no matter what. 

Cheat days

To stay fit, you don’t have to eat perfect 100%. Cheat a little in order to keep your sanity. Treat yourself with a cheat meal once in a while. So do not feel guilty to enjoy a cookie, or some chocolate pastry or a scoop of ice cream. Just don’t let it become too frequent of a habit. 

Sleep well

Sleep gives you the energy to work out on a regular basis. It also boosts your metabolic rate, enhance your performance and repair your muscles. Take at least 7-8 hours of sleep every night. 

Socialize with like minded people 

Hang out with like minded people. If your friends are into healthy cooking, you are more likely to join them. It will help you stay more active. However, when your friends just love junk food, try to encourage them to eat healthy. 

Hitting the gym is not the only workout
·         Walk whenever you can
·         Pick activities like bike rides and tennis on weekends.
·         Always take stairs
·         Prolonged sitting is bad for you. So move often
